Algodones is a medical destination border town. It is said that there is a higher concentration of pharmacies, doctors, and dentists in a 2-3 block radius than anywhere else in the world. Of course the sidewalks are also covered with little shops selling jewelry, watches, sunglasses, hats, purses, and you name it. 
Since this is slow season, the shop owners had a lot of time to talk with us. They all speak good English because of the high volume of visitors from the US and Canada. Bargaining is the only way to do business. Summer enjoys looking at the jewelry and has become quite the bargainer. Luie loves the bobblehead animals.
We plan to go back again. There is a nice little restaurant that has incredible guacamole. Dave wants to get some new glasses. And Summer will need a braces adjustment. There are definitely advantages to being close to Algodones!
