We needed a day to relax and cool off, so a day at the lake sounded perfect.  We drove around and found no signs for a beach, so we went back to town and asked where to go.  We were directed to an unmarked area that the locals use for swimming.  The hike down to the edge of the lake was rugged with no trail. There is no specific place for swimming, but many interesting places along the edge. The sandstone formations in the area are layered small hills. Fortunately it is not slippery. We meandered along for quite a ways until we found a spot that had more of a shallow edge.

We soaked up some vitamin D, cooled off in the water, skipped rocks, and enjoyed the day!

Dave is a master rock skipper, so the kids always bring him rocks and count how many skips he makes.  Lately they have been bringing him more challenging rocks to see if he can make them skip.  This big piece of sandstone was a challenge, but he did it!

The sandstone in the whole area around Page is so unique and interesting.
