Sand Castle Days at South Padre Island in southern Texas.  The beach, the sun, and sand castles?  Yes, yes, yes!  We packed a big picnic lunch and took off with Grandma and Grandpa.  The sky was sunny, the water warm, and the sand sculptures were just so cool!

I mean really?  How can they do all that with just sand!  Awesome!

Through out the day there were people who tandem jumped from a plane and paraglided to a landing point very near where we were on the beach.

There were some nice body surfing waves.  Luie was having fun trying to catch waves too, using the inflatable lounger.  He preferred Summer to hold on to him most of the time though.

Here are Grandma and Grandpa enjoying the sun and watching the kids catch waves.  We all kept remarking what a perfect day it turned out to be.  The weather was perfect.  The water was such a comfortable temperature, that even wimpy me got in.   The sand sculptures were so impressive.  It was fun to watch them building and detailing their art.  They use spray bottles, straws, and paint brushes, along with lots of other tools.

I will be updating this post with more pictures at a later date.
