There are so many places to discover in Seville

The Plaza de España was our first stop and it is beautiful.  There is a large park adjacent to the Plaza and many horse drawn carriages providing rides through the park and also into other places in Seville.

The Gold tower (Torre del Oro) in the background is on the edge of the river.  It was originally covered in golden tiles and dates back to the 13th century.  It is now a museum.

Bus tour Seville Spain

We decided to take a bus tour around Seville which also provided some history.  It was a double decker bus and we of course had to sit on top.

Seville’s Bullring.

Bridge Seville Spain

There are several interesting bridges in Seville.  It is my understanding from the bus tour information, that some of these bridges were built to accommodate the World’s Fair of 1992.

There are still other reminders of the World’s Fair.

We decided to take a walking tour outlined in Rick Steve’s Spain book.  The instructions were easy to follow and we went to places we would not have found otherwise.

This statue of Don Juan was on the walking tour.  Cool!

Tapas Seville Spain

We passed so many little cafes, and tapas bars during our walking tour and we just couldn’t resist.  We ordered several different tapas, gazpacho, and sangria.  Everything was just delicious!  Dave and my favorite tapas was the spinach and garbanzo which sounds unusual but was full of flavor.  Summer loved the fresh gazpacho.  And Luie loved the potatoes.

We enjoyed our time in Seville so much that we stayed an extra day beyond what we had planned.  Next stop Portugal!

  1. Lucy said “Luie looks older than I thought!” LOL. He’s growing up so fast. She also marveled about the “diamonds” on Summer’s shirt. hahaha. She could care less about the other stuff. 🙂 We really miss you guys!

  2. I’ve always wanted to ride on top of a double decker bus! It looks like so much fun. And the food sounds delicioso!
