Beautiful Fall Day Spent in a Park in Germany

Written by Dave:

Often you don’t have to go far or do anything exotic to have a great day.  This was the case one sunny day in Germany.  We were in a small town which just so happened to have a park with its own castle.  The park proved to be beautiful on this sunny fall day.

The fall colors were in full swing, and the reflections were captured well on the smooth water surfaces.

There was a small castle surrounded by a moat in the middle of the park.  In the summer time, you could rent a small boat to row around.  As it was fall, the boats were chained up and put away for the season.

You can see the kids lined up looking at the row boats on the other side of the castle above.

Playing on the swing

There was also a swing, and the kids took turns swinging each other.  They enjoyed the wide seat that they could sit two at a time.

The beautiful trees around were perfect for setting up group pictures.

Then it was off to play in the leaf piles.  Being fall, there were plenty around.  Luie really enjoyed the leaf piles, as he hadn’t been around big ones like this before.  I decided to take a photo series picture to see how it would turn out.  I think it did a good job of capturing the fun that they were having.

Once everyone was tired out, we walked back home.  It was a great day.

The time passed quickly and it was now time for us to move on to Berlin.  We really were blessed to spend time with good friends and be able to connect again.  It is truly sad to say goodbye, but are grateful for the time we did have.
