La Pizzateca Madrid Spain

Sometimes you just get in the mood for pizza.  Really good pizza with a nice fresh crust and loaded with flavor.  And boy oh boy did La Pizzateca hit the spot!  It was exceptional.

Summer had been doing some searching online to find a good pizza place and we were thrilled she found La Pizzateca.

The pizza at the counter is fresh and it is only roasted in the oven when you order it.  So it is hot and crispy goodness when you get it.

The pizza here was some of the best we have had in Europe.  No wonder they are so highly rated on Tripadvisor.

We each ordered our pizza by the slice, so that we could each get a different choice.

The most popular pizza is the Truffle pizza.  This was Summer’s choice, since she has been a huge fan of truffles.  She was nice enough to share bites with us, and it was truly fantastic.  I can see why it is the most popular.

There is a lot of variety of choices, including the onion and bacon pizza shown in the photo below.

There is also a number of vegetarian choices such as the La Romana shown above.  It has thinly sliced potatoes, mozzarella, and cream of black truffles.

La Rucolona (shown above) has tomato, rocket greens, goat cheese, mozzarella, and a balsalmic reduction.  Dave tried both the potato and rocket (La Romana & La Rucolona) pizzas and said they were both excellent.

 

I had the 5 cheese (La 5 Quesos)  It has provolone, goat cheese, blue cheese, mozzarella, and cream of gorgonzola.  I loved it!  And I would highly recommend it to cheese lovers.

We finished off with cups of tiramisu.  Creamy, chocolately, and a nicely flavored coffee soaked cake.

La Pizzateca is a small place, but it has a great reputation.  There were lots of people that stopped by to pick up their take-away pizzas.
