The Bridge and Gorge of Ronda, Spain are just stunning.  As are the amazing views from the bridge.  The bridge was completed in 1793 and is the symbol of the city of Ronda.  It is 360 feet down to the ravine.  Makes you feel a little woosy when looking straight down from atop the bridge.

It is pretty dramatic to look down at the depth of the gorge and see the buildings on the edge of the cliffs.

There are a couple places on either side of the bridge to get a better look.  But for the best views, you really have to hike down the trail.

Breathtaking right!

We continued down the trail all the way to the base of the bridge.  There is a place where you can walk and go under the bridge and a little ways on to the other side.

After climbing all the way down, we went part way back up the trail to a different trail that goes along the old fortifications.  More spectacular cliff, gorge, and countryside views.

Even though I remember taking the pictures, when I look at them again, it still seems surreal.

We were pretty hot and tired after a long day of hiking.  And what do you know, a nice little cafe at the top of the trail.  Location, location, location.  We stopped for a cold drink before hiking back to our campground.

  1. Stunning views. Makes a person wonder how the construction could be done with the available methods of that time. Great shots! You guys must be in good shape to do all that trekking.

    1. The bridge took 40 years to build and is made of stone from the bottom of the gorge. I have no idea how they could have managed that over 300 years ago.
