I have been wanting to go to a dinner and Flamenco show for a long time.  Jardines de Zoraya is very highly rated, so we made reservations for the evening when we were in Granada.

As a matter of fact, we were so excited about our dinner and Flamenco show, that we showed up early.  But that gave me a chance to get a photo of the colorful tables.  It also gave us a chance to try and decide from all the delicious choices.

They started us out with some bread, a garbanzo bean spread, and delicious Andalucian olives.

Summer’s choice was Pumpkin soup with ginger and basil oil for her first course.  She loved it and was nice enough to share a bite.  It was full of rich flavors.

Dave chose a salad with gratine goat cheese, mixed nuts, and a mango vinaigrette.  He said that it was fantastic.  And again, I have to agree.

I chose white asparagus cream with crispy garlic bread.  I have seen white asparagus in the grocery stores, but have never tried them.  The soup was very good.  It tasted like nice creamy asparagus.

For the main course, Dave chose Carved ox rib-eye steak with mustard and honey.   At the top of his plate you can see a round serving of thinly sliced potatoes au gratin, seasoned cous cous with carrots, and a zucchini filled with diced vegetables.

I chose Grilled Iberian pork steak served with boletus sauce.  I also had the potatoes, cous couse, and zucchini,  all of which were so well seasoned.  Everything was quite delicious!

Summer chose the Tortilla espanola on a bed of ratatouille.  First let me tell you that she was thrilled with the presentation.  Second, she loved the food.  As a matter of fact, she talked the whole evening about how much she loved this place.  My little foodie!

Luie ordered from the kids menu and chose chicken fingers with potatoes (fries).  He said it was really nummy!

Just before dessert, the lights dimmed and it was time to start the Flamenco show.

Dave chose Catalan Cream with orange essence (Crème brûlée).

Summer and I both chose the Black chocolate fondant with red berries coulis.  Sinfully delicious!

Luie chose a crepe.  He was very full after eating all his chicken, but he was able to eat all of his crepe slowly during the Flamenco show.

This was our first every Flamenco show, and boy was it good.  You can see that there are 4 people in the show.  A guitarist, whose fingers moved so quickly.  A singer, a female dancer, and a male dancer.  They kept a clapping rhythm with the music.

The pace is fast and exciting.  There are hand movements, hip movements, and fast feet movements like tap dance.  There is also a characteristic stomp.

We had an amazing night.  The food was incredible and the Flamenco show was fun and energetic.  Luie was so impressed that he has been attempting his own version of Flamenco.  We overheard a couple talking about the show.  They said that they had been to 5 Flamenco shows in the last week, and that this one was the best.
