We had lunch at the Barfly in La Jolla.  There was an outside seating area with live music that made great ambiance.  Our table was a fire pit table which would have been great in the evening.

Our food was so good that Summer is still talking about it.  She had fruit crepes with a vanilla custard and was especially impressed with the writing in chocolate around the edge of her plate.  Luie finished his whole cheese pizza.  Dave had a spicy southwest omelet, and I had spinach and goat cheese quiche.  Normally I would not be writing about food, but our Summer is a bit of a foodie.  Her food aesthetic and influence comes heavily from her Granddad and Auntie.  So she appreciates every aspect of her dining experience.  The rich flavors and beautiful plating got straight A’s from her.

A rare shot of the four of us.  The waiter was nice enough to snap this picture.
