There is nothing as good as a frozen fruit smoothie on a hot summer day!  We have made hundreds of smoothies out of many different fruit combinations.  But this is our latest favorite.  Also, I want to say that a good blender makes all the difference.  I found this cheap little blender at Walmart.  I made sure to ask the cashier if I could return it after I tried it, if it wasn’t able to chop the ice.  She assured me that it would not be a problem.  So I skeptically came home with a blender for $17.  Wow, was I impressed with the smooth quality of the smoothie.

I rarely measure anything so the following recipe is rough estimates.  But if you want to try it, I would encourage you to do several taste tests and add ingredients to make it just to your preference.

 

Mango Lime Smoothie

makes 4 servings

  • 2 c. frozen mango chunks
  • 1 cup ice
  • 1-2 cups water (depending on your blender)
  • 2 heaping T. frozen limeade (we like it tart)
  • 1/2 c. plain Greek yogurt (optional)

You can add more yogurt if you prefer a creamier flavor.

Blend until smooth!  Enjoy!

Seriously delicious and refreshing!  And it will cool you right down on a hot day!
