The lake in Annecy France is just breathtaking with the mountains in the background. We had a beautiful day and enjoyed some time in the water before exploring the old town with our niece, Roxane. The water was quite brisk, but with the warm air it could be tolerated for short durations.
If you are ever in the the eastern part of France, it is certainly worth a visit. Annecy is only about a 42 km drive south of Geneva Switzerland. The town is beautiful, and we were pleasantly surprised by what it had to offer.
The medieval old town was built around a 14th century chateau. There is even a canal with multiple bridges that add to the charm.
This building in the middle of the river was once a prison. It now is a gathering place, with restaurants and bars.
I have to say, this was one of our favorite towns to visit in France.
