La Tranquera Restaurant Cordoba Spain
We had the opportunity to enjoy some delicious food at a restuarant in Cordoba, near the Cathedral. The food is an Argentina/Spain fusion. Talk about a great combination!
We had read some great reviews about this place and were anxious to try the food. They have earned a Tripadvisor certificate of excellence for the last three years in a row.
We enjoyed some delicious olives and bread while the rest of our lunch was being prepared.
Tortilla de patatas, a traditional Spanish dish. This is just what I was in the mood for, and it was very good.
Empanadas, one with chicken and one with cheese. Muy delicioso!
Dave got the house special, steak. All the beef comes from Argentina. The steak was fantastico! Amazing flavor and so tender. Dave was very impressed and happy with his choice. He couldn’t stop talking about it for the rest of the day.
To finish, we shared a chocolate cake called Death by Chocolate. Mmmmm, rich, moist, and such chocolatey goodness! What a great note to end on.
The restaurant has three different rooms inside for seating and an area for eating outside. Each room has a wall with a large painted mural.
The owner, Luis, was very nice and spoke excellent English. He and his wife opened this restaurant 5 years ago. He is from Argentina and his wife is from Cordoba. They take pride in the quality of their food and pay close attention to details.
We enjoyed visiting with Luis and we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at La Tranquera and we look forward to going back.
If you are in Cordoba, La Tranquera is located just down the street from the Cathedral. I highly recommend the food and the friendly people who work there. There is also a nice variety of vegetarian options and the prices are very reasonable.
