We braved the 114 degree heat to visit some animals.  Camel farm is a private farm that opens up for the public.  They have many more animals than camels.  They also sell food that you can feed to the animals.  This is the youngest camel on the farm.  He was very friendly.  The kids LOVED being able to feed the animals.  And the animals loved it too!

This is a cross between a domestic donkey and a zebra, called a zeedonk.  All the animals were so friendly.  You can tell they are used to people.  When you walk away, they make a sound to try to get you to come back.

These two little donkeys were probably my favorite.  They had such personality and were so excited when you got near them.  They ran excitedly along the fence to get closer to you.  We had a lot of fun.  Summer said this definitely hit her happy list.  Anytime she can see and pet animals, it is a good day.

  1. We used to have camels in Silver Creek. They spit on people when they get mad. Did you know camels have three eye lids? The third one goes back and forth instead of up and down, works like windshield wipers to keep the sand out of the camel’s eyes during a sand storm.

  2. you know, I remember seeing a donkey at the Jackson fair and every time I would try to leave he would start braying and cause such a commotion, I ended up spending hours with him! I loved it though.
