I’ve played a LOT of instruments before.  Typically I don’t last more than two years of not wanting to practice and pushing it to the side.  But recently, I started learning how to play the guitar!  I decided to play when my dad bought the guitar because he wanted to learn how to play.  It looked so fun I knew I wanted to learn too!  I’ve been playing the guitar for about 3 and 1/2 months now.  This is the first instrument I’ve actually wanted to play.  It’s also the first instrument I taught myself how to play from the internet.

I love learning new songs that I get to choose myself, since I haven’t had that option before.  I usually learned at school and had my songs chosen for me.  My two favorite songs to play at the moment are Silent Night and The River Flows in You.  One of the things that I like about the guitar is that I can choose to play my songs two different ways, strumming or fingerstyle.  I like to play fingerstyle because it makes the guitar practically sing the notes.  But, it is fun to play strumming songs every once in a while for fun.

Here I am playing Silent Night.

  1. hello miss Summer, Thank you for the concert of Silent Night. It is so good you have taken up the Guitar. It is a rewarding thing to have freedom to experience composing and discovering new tunes and styles. Do you have a teacher? I was very impressed with your style and patience feeling the fingering,
Strumming and catching the notes just right. Thank you Summer! Annette and Steve

      Thanks again, Summer
